Residents in Partington are being encouraged to take control of their health through a free self-service health station at Partington Library and Wellbeing Centre. Delivered in partnership with Trafford Council, the initiative is making preventative health checks more accessible, helping residents identify potential health risks earlier and access local support before serious conditions develop.
The SISU Health Station is available to anyone aged 16 and over during normal opening hours at Partington Library and Wellbeing Centre.

Many serious health conditions, including high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease, can develop without obvious symptoms. The SISU Health Station makes it easy for residents to check key health measures in just five minutes, without needing an appointment.
Users can measure their blood pressure, BMI, body composition, heart rate and heart age before receiving personalised health insights and guidance on any appropriate next steps. Those who would benefit from additional support can also be signposted to local health and wellbeing services.
The initiative is particularly focused on reaching people who may not routinely visit their GP or engage with traditional preventative health services, making health checks more accessible in a familiar community setting.
It seems intimidating at first, but the SISU Health machine is actually easy to use, because it gives you step by step instructions on what to do next… I use it weekly to keep me focused on my weight loss journey and keeping healthy.

These findings demonstrate how making health checks more accessible can help identify hidden health risks earlier, enabling people to seek further advice and support before conditions become more serious.
We see patients with health problems that potentially could have been prevented or found sooner. So having access to a health machine that allows patients to come and test their health is a huge benefit.

By bringing preventative health checks into everyday community settings, Trafford Council is helping remove barriers that can prevent people from engaging with their health.
Rather than waiting for symptoms to appear, residents can regularly monitor important health measures, better understand their risk factors and access support at an earlier stage.
Alongside supporting individuals, anonymised population data also helps build a clearer picture of community health needs, informing future public health planning.
Accessible health checks play an important role in helping communities identify hidden health risks earlier while encouraging more people to take an active role in their wellbeing.
If you’re looking to improve access to preventative health services, SISU Health can help bring self-service health stations into community settings, workplaces and other trusted public spaces.
