SISU Health has secured £1.25 million in new investment to expand access to preventative healthcare across workplaces, NHS settings and communities. This investment will help widen access to SISU Health Stations, enabling more people to access preventative health checks while providing data-driven insights that support healthier communities across the UK and Europe.
The investment from Praetura Ventures and existing shareholders will support the continued growth of SISU Health, helping more people identify potential health risks earlier.
Funding from the GMC Life Sciences Fund by Praetura and NPIF II Praetura Equity Finance will enable SISU Health to expand its team, grow its network of Health Stations and online tools, and reach more workplaces and communities across the UK and Europe.
Samantha Fay, CEO at SISU Health, said:
We’re building a future where everyone has the tools and confidence to take control of their health ‒ wherever they are. This funding allows us to scale our digital platform, extend our reach into new communities, and strengthen our collaborations and integrations across employer, public health and primary care. Prevention has to be proactive, accessible and data-informed ‒ and that’s exactly what SISU Health delivers.
Preventable conditions such as cardiovascular disease, obesity and type 2 diabetes develop without any obvious symptoms, meaning opportunities for early intervention are often missed.
Traditional health services can also be difficult to access for people in manual, frontline or shift-based roles and for communities facing geographical, financial or social barriers. Making health checks available in familiar and convenient locations can help identify risks that might otherwise remain hidden.
Already supporting nearly 20,000 people each month, SISU Health helps individuals identify potential health risks and better understand their overall health.
The funding will support plans to grow the SISU Health network to more than 600 Health Stations by the end of 2026, creating more opportunities for early intervention and helping reduce pressure on local health services.
Health Stations will be deployed across workplaces, NHS sites and community hubs. These quick, self-service health checks extend the reach of traditional services and empower individuals to take greater control of their health.
Commenting on the investment, Sim Singh-Landa, Head of the GMC Life Sciences Fund by Praetura, added:
SISU Health is bringing health into the modern age by helping individuals to take a health test at a time that’s convenient to them without judgement and the costs that can be associated with health checks.
They are critically providing connected collaboration between the corporate world and public health systems, encouraging self-care and health awareness for individuals with supported follow-up and interventions, which has significant benefits for the NHS and public health.
The funding will also support further integration between SISU Health and local health pathways, helping organisations connect people with appropriate follow-up support when a health risk is identified.
Anonymised population health insights help local authorities, NHS bodies and employers understand health trends, target support and make informed decisions that improve outcomes and reduce pressure on services.
Dr Kath MacKay, Chief Scientific Officer for Bruntwood SciTech, commented:
The GMC Life Sciences Fund by Praetura was set up to grow the region’s life sciences footprint to new levels of widespread recognition and give support to innovative businesses like SISU Health who are tackling challenges like public health and the need to reach underrepresented demographics.
We’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the SISU Health team, as they scale the business’s manufacturing and logistics output from right here in the North West.
The investment reflects the growing focus on prevention across healthcare, workplaces and local communities. National initiatives such as the Department of Health and Social Care’s CVD Workplace Health Check Programme are also helping identify preventable health risks before they develop into more serious conditions.
