Preventable health risks often go unnoticed until they become serious health concerns, with barriers to access preventing many people from benefiting from early intervention. Drawing on insights from more than 685,000 health checks, this report examines where the gaps exist and how they can inform more equitable and effective prevention strategies.

Millions of people miss out on vital health checks due to barriers such as time, cost and accessibility. As a result, hidden health risks can go unnoticed, delaying diagnosis and opportunities for early intervention.

Over 73% of participants hadn’t had their blood pressure checked in the previous 12 months, yet more than 62% of those tested recorded high blood pressure.

Drawing on insights from more than 685,000 health checks conducted between 1 January and 31 December 2022, this report explores who is engaging with preventative health services, where hidden risks are being identified, and how these insights can inform more equitable prevention strategies.
