SISU Health partners with Vhi to strengthen its corporate wellness offering for high-profile clients, primarily multinational companies with 1,000+ employees. With nearly 20 Health Stations deployed across workplaces in Ireland, employees are uncovering hidden health risks, taking action early, and achieving measurable reductions in high blood pressure and smoking rates.

The challenge – Expanding wellness and engaging hard-to-reach employees

While Vhi had a strong wellness culture and nurse-led screening programmes, it lacked a simple, scalable solution that would:

  • Provide baseline health checks quickly and accessibly for employees
  • Detect early indicators of long-term health risks such as high blood pressure or elevated BMI
  • Engage employees who might otherwise avoid more formal, nurse-led screening
  • Generated anonymised, actionable data to inform bespoke wellness programs

Previously, Vhi relied on a screening model that included questionnaires, cholesterol tests and consultations. While effective, it was time-intensive and less appealing to certain employees – particularly men – and it offered limited reach across multi-site organisations.

Vhi needed a solution that combined speed, simplicity and insight while complementing its existing wellness programmes.

The solution – A simple, scalable approach to employee wellness

Vhi began working with SISU Health in 2022 and since that time has:

  • Deployed across corporate sites in Ireland – moved weekly to maximise reach
  • Supported a structured rollout, scheduling installs and removals efficiently through a dedicated health solution coordinator
  • Delivered quickly, confidential health checks covering blood pressure, BMI, body composition and other key wellness indicators
  • Supplied aggregated data to inform Vhi’s wellness programmes, enabling evidence-based recommendations for smoking cessation, nutrition, activity and stress management
  • Scaled the footprint from 13 to 19 machines in 2025, and currently exploring new deployment opportunities, including non-traditional spaces like shopping centres and libraries

SISU Health has a real can-do attitude. Our relationship is very strong – one that we will never take for granted.

The Health Stations are integrated into Vhi’s broader wellness framework, complementing talks, programmes and workshops, and offering employees the flexibility to engage on their own schedule, such as during breaks or lunch hours – a key factor for manufacturing or shift-based environments.

The deployment spans a wide variety of multinational clients across sectors including pharma, tech, finance and manufacturing, with locations such as Zurich, Workday, Wuxi Biologics, Willis Towers Watson, Pepsi and Wayfair. This demonstrates the versatility and broad appeal of the solution in supporting employee wellness across diverse corporate environments.

The impact – Significant reach and sustained behaviour change

By 2025, SISU Health’s partnership had expanded significantly:

  • Clients served: 320, across 503 sites
  • Health Stations increased by 25%
  • Health Checks increased by 27% (32,749)
  • Participants increased by 26% (29,465)
  • Average checks per site per day: 10.7

The demographic profile remained consistent, reaching the core working-age population (median age 39), with a slight increase in male participation.

Behavioural outcomes among repeat participants:

  • Smoking reduction: 24% in 2025 vs 18.8% in 2024
  • High blood pressure reduction: 25.5% in 2025 vs 22.1% in 2024

Seeing people use the health station for real was eye-opening – it prompts them to engage with their own wellbeing, whether that’s quitting smoking, exercising more, or improving nutrition.

One notable example from Niall highlighted the potential for early intervention: a staff member with dangerously high blood pressure and BMI, who was flagged by the Health Station, sought medical help promptly and underwent life-saving treatment.

Strategic value – Turning insights into actionable wellness programmes

Beyond individual insights, aggregated Health Station data supports Vhi in:

  • Designing tailored wellness programmes for multinational clients
  • Providing evidence-based recommendations for interventions like exercise programmes, nutrition talks and lifestyle initiatives
  • Informing corporate leadership and wellness teams about population-level health trends

SISU Health’s flexibility and reliability have made them a trusted partner, enabling Vhi to deliver consistent, impactful wellness services to employers while preparing for future expansion into broader community spaces.
